Mac’s Speed Shop has been a Charlotte staple for over 20 years! Built by 2 best friends who love beer, bikes, and BBQ – this establishment is no frills and great vibes. One of my favorite things about Mac’s is that they make everything from scratch every day. That includes their dressings and BBQ sauces! This spot is pet friendly as well. Best dish in my humble opinion is BBQ Nachos.
Classic NC BBQ
There is a reason that Mac’s has 8 locations. This place knows how to do BBQ! My go-to is the pulled pork topped with their signature Western NC BBQ sauce. Honestly though, their SC Mustard BBQ sauce and Carolina BBQ sauce are fire is well. I know its hard to see but their baked beans are pretty incredible too – more on the sweeter side and plenty of em.
Perfect Shoestrings
Every time I come here it seems like my fries came fresh out of the fryer. I switch back and forth between the fries and sweet potato fries, but if you can – I would get both. My personal favorite is to pair their sweet potato fries with honey mustard and their regular fries with buffalo sauce! You can also switch their nacho chips out with fries (see below)!
