Book Review
The Perfect Son
Overall Review:
Another thriller by Freida! This one is about a ‘perfect son’ with some rather disturbing habits throughout his childhood. Think of a Dahmer Bundy type. He is handsome and charming but also a closet pyscho?
I found this book to be entertaining and again one that I can’t put down because I need to know the answer to the riddle. However, this book felt like it had more plot holes than usual.

TBH my radar wasn’t really on the husband. I also found this whole premise SO STRANGE. Like why was it all about starving to death in a whole. I didn’t understand how he DID duct tape a girl in a closet at 5 years old but it was revealed that his dad did the carbon monoxide deal. And why did the dad feel the need to ‘get’ this girl Olivia. His son obviously liked her and it is way riskier than his other kills. I know he was going for the whole ‘setup my family and escape deal’ but like why? Why not just kill your family?
Why was there no inkling that the kids HATE their dad? When Hannah talked about how much their Dad hates them I wish I could have looked back for at least a minor easter egg but there really wasn’t one. The Dad’s death also kind of blah. You’re telling me a 16 year old track star took down a serial killer with one stab? Idk.
It sounds like I am really dogging on the book but truthfully it was super fun to read!
