Pelato is a family owned business that has expanded to have a few locations in the south. They are described as ‘traditional Brooklyn Italian cuisine’. Serving up family recipes, makes this ‘chain’ feel a little bit more unique. The Charleston location opened in the spring of 2025.
Must Have Radiatori Vodka
The Radiatori Vodka is a must have in my opinion. The sauce was creamy and plentiful, I could have had two more servings of this! The portion is smaller, making it the perfect amount if you have plans later in the night. I split it with my mom since we weren’t super hungry!
Swanky Atmosphere
Pelato’s dining room is a large open concept with seating at the bar, intimate booths, and standard table seating. They also boast a large outdoor patio that is enclosed during the colder months. This is a perfect spot for a date night or a girls dinner!
Order to Share
Their menu is designed to be either family style or shareable. I highly recommend ordering a bunch for the table and trying a little bit of everything. Our waitress recommended the Potato Croquettes and just wow! I don’t even understand how they made these, but it was amazing. Crispy outside and a perfectly soft pillow like potato inside.
